Get the Look: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Real housewife of Beverly Hills Adrienne Maloof has said she loves a big statement earring. How to Wear Tangerine For Fall – Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year

So if you’re anything like me, you sort of don’t know about tangerine. This color of the rainbow hasn’t been a huge part of your wardrobe, like, ever. But this sunny shade surprisingly looks great on most skin tones (it’s the muted mustard seed and cinnamon shades that are tricky to wear). Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s 2012 color of the year, has been all the rage. Sephora even offered a seasonal cosmetic line featuring the bright orange hue.

Like most of us, if you are hesitant to jump into a bright orange suit for work, don’t you worry. Wear a little bit at a time and see if tangerine suits you — your skin tone, your personality, your age, your style, etc. Here are my tips to wearing this fun color into Fall, for both work and play.

Erin’s Style Tip: Start slow if needed. Try out the trend with some tangerine accessories, such as a belt, a colorful sandal or a bright bangle or pair of earrings. Or hey, throw on some bright orange polish on your toes and see how you like that. Just try it, already.

Left to Right / Top to Bottom: Orange Linea Pelle Braided Stretch Waist Belt from Neiman Marcus; Malinda Neon Orange T-Strap Sandal from Vince Camuto; Orange Lindsay Enamel Bangle Bracelet and coral Capri Chandelier Earrings, both from Stella & Dot Jewelry; Sephora + Pantone Limited Edition Nail Polish at Sephora; LAUREN by Ralph Lauren Striped Tote from Zappos.

Erin’s Style Tip: Be Bold. Be Daring. Are you ready to rock Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year? Slip into some Tangerine Tango and be the life of the party. This color is not for the faint of heart, so if you’re a Leo or Aries, a natural comedian, a high powered exec – or if you’ve simply had a shot of tequila and are just happy and carefree – by all means, rock an orange dress, bib necklace or sky high heel, baby!

Left to Right / Top to Bottom: Editor Ankle Pant from Express; Culture Fit ‘Tess’ Tie Dress from Zappos; Olivia Bib Necklace from Stella & Dot jewelry; Aldo ‘Lindall’ High Heel Pump from Nordstrom; Orange Accordian Pleat Skirt from Banana Republic; Bailey 44 Dingo Dress from Revolve Clothing.

Trend Report: Discovering Textures

This blog post is originally from Stella & Dot’s corporate Stylewatch blog, seen HERE.

Combining textures is all over the runway this season, and a hot topic for every editorial feature.  And while textural blending is most commonly seen in apparel with combos like leather and lace or tweed and satin, we’re loving the idea of blending textures by way of accessory! Accessorizing with interesting textures, like a silky top paired with a texture-heavy statement piece, is a fun and easy way to embrace the trend, and we’re all about making trends accessible. See our favorite combinations and style tips!

Statement necklaces aren’t just for special occasions anymore, they are the perfect piece to easily dress up a casual outfit and bring in the “wow” factor.  We love the feathering texture of the Pegasus Necklace; it is visually interesting, yet surprisingly easy to wear.  Wear this over an open neckline (think silk or velvet for a festive feel), or over a pop of color (Did we mention that mixing bold colors with different textures is hot right now, too?). Finish the look simply with our Essential Ball Studs, and you will be turning heads.

We love the versatility of the Plume Brooch for the office.  The duo toned feathers and sparkly stones, add a subtle touch of glamour that’s appropriate for day or night.  Pin the brooch to accent a sweater or blazer, or for our favorite look, pin it onto our Astor Five Strand Necklace, and finish the look with Tudor Studs. The array of textures worn in jewels will make the rest of your outfit effortless. Just slip on a fitted dress and classic pumps to support the look!

Lace is by far one of the most popular textures of the season.  Our Chantilly Lace Cuff and Chandelier Earrings have all the intricate details of lace, and give every outfit the ultimate touch of glamour.  We love starting with an elegant LBD little black dress, adding in the chandelier statement earrings, then finishing with a soft, feminine updo, simple eyes, and a bold lip. Step up the look even more with the matching cuff, or even the Metallic La Coco Clutch for an unforgettable night out on the town.

Now that you have a few tips on how to bring in texture to your winter look, we challenge you to come up with some of your own head-turning ensembles, paying special attention to textural blending!

Actress Marlee Matlin Wears Stella & Dot Earrings on NBC’s “The Apprentice”

Last week’s Celebrity Apprentice sure surprised me! Meatloaf went off the deep end, Lil Jon decided to take up painting and John Rich stepped up his game as project manager. However, the most impressive and surprising thing about the Sunday, April 3, 2011 episode was how both teams raised over a million dollars for charity.

And on top of it all, I was pleasantly surprised to see Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin wearing the green Garden Party Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot! As project manager, she helped raise nearly $1 million dollars for a charity very near and dear to her heart: the Starkey Hearing Foundation, an organization who offers education regarding hearing matters and offering the gift of hearing around the world to those in need. The men raised over $600,000 for St. Jude’s Children ‘s Research Hospital, the only cancer research facility dedicated to children.

Stella & Dot Earrings in March 2011 Issue of Self Magazine

The casually chic Rio Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot are featured in the March 2011 issue of Self magazine in the style section “The Best Jeans For Your Body Type.” The 14kt gold-plated earrings work equally well with a printed blouse and denim (as shown in the magazine) as well as with a summery bohemian dress. Finish the look with the Rio Coin Bracelet from Stella & Dot.

Stella & Dot Bracelet Worn by Blaire Waldorf on Gossip Girl!

Stella & Dot’s jewelry designer Blythe Harris has said to have taken style inspiration from the hit TV show Gossip Girl and it’s fashion-forward characters, Blaire Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) and Serena Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), but it looks as though the hit show is now taking style cues from Stella & Dot!

Blaire wore a stunning floor length, floral gown on last night’s episode [Monday, February, 14, 2011; Season 4, episode 15] and she paired it with the stunning Petra Braided Bracelet from Stella & Dot! The statement bracelet is a best-seller and features industrial metal chains that are braided together with the sparkle of cubic zirconias for take-no-prisoners style. To finish Blaire’s glam look, try the matching Petra Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot.

Get 5 Fabulous Looks with One Little Black Dress

This blog post is originally from the Stella & Dot corporate website blog StyleWatch.” See the original post HERE.

The holidays are in full swing and for many of us that begs the question, “What will I wear to my holiday parties?” While some of us struggle to find the perfect holiday dress, most of us will already have our reliable little black dress (LBD) stashed away somewhere in our overstuffed closets. This year instead of fighting your way through the crowded department store, why not update your LBD with one of these party-perfect looks? Here are five to choose from. Which one fits your personality?

Glam Couture

Remember the classic Osmond tune, “I’m a little bit country, a little bit rock n’roll?” Well, this look is a little bit vintage, a little bit rock n’ roll – and a whole lot of glamorous! The Metropolitan Mixed Chain Necklace is a menagerie of chic street chains accented with 4 unique vintage brooches. It’s the perfect way to kick up your wardrobe a few notches. Pair this dramatic necklace with a simple pair of earrings and a sparkly bracelet and you’re sure to be the hit of any holiday party.

Classic Starlet

Want to feel a little bit “Hollywood” even if you’re only going to your office holiday party? Do a little deco with the Heirloom Deco Bracelet. This Czech crystal bracelet was inspired by a bracelet found in Dot’s jewelry box and was a standard for 1930’s starlets. Paired with our Deco Drop Earrings and Stackable Deco Rings, you’ll be ready for your close-up!

Statement Pearls

While we all love and treasure our grandmother’s pearls, sometimes a single strand just isn’t enough. For pearl lovers who crave a bit more “pearlisciousness,” the Sofia Pearl Bib Necklace is the ultimate indulgence. Pair this attention-grabber with simple pearl earrings and a pearl & gold cocktail ring and Voila! The world is your oyster.

Rocker Chic

The Petra Braided Bracelet and the Petra Fringe Earrings are THE must-haves of the season for any rocker at heart. Set the stage for edgy glamour by pairing this look with high stilettos, a skinny metallic belt and red lips. Get ready to be treated like rock royalty wherever you go!

Vintage Charm

This look brings a different twist to classic Hollywood glamour. The Ava Cupchain Necklace is not only a flattering piece for any neckline (the self tie ribbon can be tied long or short) it can also be worn in the hair as a beautifully unexpected headband. Layer on some additional “leading lady” appeal with the Soiree Earrings and a few stackable bracelets, like the Soiree Pave Bracelets. Finish the look with the conversation-sparking Belle Fleur Ring.

Stella & Dot Earrings in December Issue of Marie Claire Magazine

The fantastically and fabulously glam Petra Fringe Earrings from Stella & Dot appeared in the December 2010 issue of Marie Claire magazine with Harry Potter star Emma Watson on the cover (sporting her new pixie do, no less). The silver fringe earrings were featured in the burlesque-inspired fashion story, “Look Like a Million for Under $100.” And I tell ya — these earrings sure do the trick!

Bachelorette Jillian Harris Wears Stella & Dot Earrings on ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

The spunky and sweet Bachelorette, Jillian Harris, has been spotted wearing her Stella & Dot jewelry once again. This time, she wore colorful statement earrings while planting flowers, breaking windows and designing a brand new home for the Skaggs family on ABC’s hit TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which aired on Sunday, March 14, 2010 (Season 7, episode 722). She wore the best-selling  Garden Party Earrings from Stella & Dot for most of the show, seen below.

She also added a nice of pop color with the Charlize Teardrop Earrings, seen below.

Giuliana Rancic Wears Stella & Dot Silver Chandelier Earrings

The reality show star and TV correspondent, Giuliana Rancic, is a huge fan of Stella & Dot jewelry, as she wore the Signature Clover Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot on air during a pre-Oscars special. She paired the statement earrings with a beautiful pale blue, off-the-shoulder dress. She has also been spotted wearing the Sayulita Statement Necklace and Colette Necklace on E! News and she wore the Grace Pearl Bauble Bracelet down the Emmy’s red carpet. Finish off the look with the matching Signature Clover Cuff.

Stella Steal: Paige Chandelier Earrings

For the holidays, statement earrings are the easiest way to update your style for less — it costs less than a necklace but still adds the same visual impact. Plus, since the earrings are so close your face, it will bring more attention to those smoldering eyes and your beauitful smile. Check out these Black Cabochon Drop Earrings from Kenneth Jay Lane on ShopBop.com (left). Featuring Swarovski crystals and black resin beads, these beauties are $188. But get the look for less with the Paige Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot for just $52 (recently reduced from $69!). These earrings from Stella & Dot feature black onyx and 14kt gold vermeil (right). It’s a gorgoues piece of jewelry to update your party dress. Check out other Stella & Dot sale and clearance items before they’re gone for good!

Stella Steal: Garden Party Chandelier Earrings

I first discovered Anna Beck jewelry on one of my sample sale Web sites, such as Hautelook, Ideeli or Billion Dollar Babes. Her jewels are very similar to some pieces that Stella & Dot offers, although not as colorful. These gold plated Riau Multi Drop Gold Earrings are $163 and the Anna Beck Gili Gold Multi Drop Earrings on the right are $275 (I know, they are practically the same earrings). The Garden Party Chandelier Earrings from Stella & Dot are on the company’s top 5 bestseller list for a reason: Hand-painted enamel dots on 14kt gold vermeil, all for just $54. Plus, they’re surprisingly lightweight and extremely wearable. Yep. You gotta love it.

Look Younger & Better Instantly!

Although lotions, potions and serums do work wonders, they are not an instant fix for lifeless skin or forehead wrinkles. So, what is? Jewelry!

We all know jewelry can add instant impact to your look, but it also brings light, sparkle and color to the face and draws attention away from problem areas. Puffy eyes, crow’s feet, smile lines… They can all be instantly diminished with the flash of a chandelier earring or a whimsical necklace. Read on to find out how Stella & Dot jewelry can help you look younger, brighter, and better RIGHT NOW!

          Stella_Turq.Sea.EarringStella_CoinPearlNeckstella_happy.flower.necklaceStella_RachelNeck

1.) Sparkle on, Girl! Shiny skin is a major no-no, but shiny jewels? Now we’re talking! Anything glimmery, shimmery or sparkly is your friend when it comes to accessories. What bronzers & highlighters do for your complexion, blingy earrings and necklaces do for your entire look. So, when you look like the cat dragged you in at 3am last night, pop on some earrings such as the Delphine Chandelier Earrings and watch the red from your eyes fade away. Can’t wear the door-knockers to work? Try the Heirloom Earrings, which pack in some bling for their petite size.

2.) Play with color. Our economic forecast is bland enough, so why should our style be colorless, too? Happy hues have the ability to literally change your mood and lift your spirits. I say: Take advantage of the magic of color! Turquoise is a universal hue that flatters nearly everyone. Try the Turquoise Sea Drop Necklace or matching Turquoise Sea Drop Earrings. The Happy Flowers Necklace features a bouquet of fresh colors and can be worn dressed up or down. And the Bloom Flower Necklace is the perfect pop of whimsy for your usual office attire.

3.) Know what makes you shine. What looks absolutely stunning on you, silver or gold? Both usually look good on everyone, but one will literally make your skin glow. When one of my friends put on the Sofia Single Strand Necklace, her face literally looked like it was lit from within! My mom is one who looks best in cool colors such as black, purples and blues, and she is radiant in the Rachel Necklace or the Silver Jasmine Filigree Earrings.

4.) Style it with white. So, you started your weekend early and went out with girls Thursday night. Ahh, we’ve all been there. But don’t let the next morning’s aftermath get you down. If you look dull or tired, nothing works better than white! Line the inner, lower rim of your eyes with white liner. Dab some white shimmer on your brow bones. And then layer on a pearl necklace to instantly add glimmer and dimension to your skin, so your dark circles, wrinkles, redness or puffiness disappears. And if one strand is great, you can bet that two or three are even better! Try the Threaded Coin Pearl Necklace or the Rosie Multistrand Necklace for a stellar look. Pair it with a classic, white oxford shirt and a bright lipstick, and baby, you’re gorgeous! No one will know you were out dancing ’til dawn.

5.) If all else fails… Exfoliate with a scrub, use a shimmer foundation, slide on some shades and smile!

Top 5 Jewelry Picks for Fall

I’m definitely more of a Spring/Summer kind of girl — the autumnal colors of browns, hunter greens and rusty oranges just aren’t my thing. But this Fall season, something has happened. Between the many trends (neon! purple! ribbons and blazers, oh my!), I think I might have fallen in love with the season! I’m jonesing for a fabulous cashmere wrap sweater and I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of great boyfriend jeans. This Fall is all about versatility and fabulousness — getting back to basics and having fun with fashion. And that being said, I’ve picked out my top 5 personal faves of the season. And I’m telling you… It wasn’t easy!

1.) Avery Chains & Pearl Necklace — This is a perfect mix of sweet pearls and tough silver chains and it really plays into the rocker chic trend that’s all the rage right now. Pair it with a bright yellow top and rolled-up boyfriend jeans for a look that you can wear now, while the weather is still warm. And then later wear it with killer heels and a trendy studded blazer. Oh, and don’t forget the smoky eye.

2.) Garden Party Earrings — Oh. My. Gosh. I just can’t get enough of these earrings! (I told you that I was more of a Spring/Summer kind of girl!) Pinks and purples get me every time and this hand-painted enamel pair is no exception. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. Wear it with a colorful dress and fierce stacked heels.

3.) Jenna Pearl & Ribbon Necklace — This necklace touches on so many trends — from ribbons to pearls to the black and white color palette — that it’s a must-have for the season. Plus, it’s so feminine, it’s a nice balance to the tougher, menswear-inspired looks that are popular right now.

4.) Alana Embroidered Cuff — This is literally a piece of artwork and it’s stunning as much as it is wearable. Swarovski crystals and glass stones give it a great shimmer and the hand-stitching lends it a vintage look. It adds the right amount of visual weight to your look with the bold color (it also comes in a plum), but doesn’t add the physical weight of wearing a large cuff. It’s perfectly crafted and inspired by some of couture’s most influential design houses.

5.) La Coco Brooch Necklace — Argh. I really couldn’t decide whether or not to place this piece in the top 5 over the Grace Pearl Bauble Bracelet. But this one tipped the scale because of its versatility and wearability. This 3-in-1 piece can be worn several ways in a necklace/bracelet/brooch combo. Brooches are coming back into style, thanks to our First Lady Michelle Obama and her effortless, timeless style. For a new twist on the pin trend, attach a brooch to your jeans pocket, your purse or a newsboy cap. And during these tough times, a piece that gives you more than three options is just what we’re looking for! Plus, it’s less than $100! What more could you want ??
